SKINCARE INFLUENCERS I LOVE

Best-Selling-Main-scaled.jpg

In the past few years I have discovered a deep love of skincare. I am not sure what got me hooked… whether it was the pretty packaging, the fresh feeling or just knowing how amazing our Earth is for providing us with ingredients that can work magic? It is most likely a marriage of the three. My skincare journey started with an interest in what changing my diet can do for my inner and outer organ health (skin is our largest organ)! As my journey continues, I am expanding my skincare horizons. I am eager to continue to learn and to improve my skin health, as well as help my friends with their skin issues. Which leads me to now sharing, my current favourite skincare influencers!

Ben Neiley

Ben had acne as a teenager, and through research and education, he was able to clear up his skin to near perfection! Coming from a place of knowing what it feels like to struggle with difficult skin, I really enjoy how Ben conducts his Tik Toks. No excess fluff, Ben gives you straight up tips and tricks in bite size clips that are simple and easy to understand. The world of skincare can sometimes come off confusing with all of the scientific names for ingredients, and the saturation of products on offer. Thankfully, Ben sifts through all that info for you, and gives it to you in an easy-to-understand video. He is genuine in his delivery and comes across as someone who truly wants to help you on your skincare journey, as he knows first-hand what it is like to struggle with skin imperfections. Check out his Tik Toks (@benneiley) to get your dose of skincare advice!

Dr. Mamina

This licensed dermatologist not only shares knowledgable medical facts, but she also shares the incredible skincare remedies of her mother! Coming from Japan, Dr. Mamina’s mother is a wealth of holistic knowledge and practices many traditional skincare maintenance and healing methods. From the right way to use bananas, to how to use a hair brush to promote circulation and cell regeneration in the skin, this duo is sure to give you some new tips. It is also clear that skincare is a love that this mother-daughter duo bonds over, and you feel as though you are part of the family when watching their Tik Tok videos. You can find Dr. Mamina and her mother on Tik Tok (@dr.mamina) and hear about some scientific and holistic skincare.

Charlotte Parler

Charlotte Parler is highly underrated! Verified on Tik Tok, a skincare entrepreneur and a graduate of aestheticians’ school, Charlotte (@charlotteparler) has a lot of skincare advice to share. I will say, her videos can sometimes be so jam packed with info that you would need to pause them to read it all and listen a few times to her audio to catch all the valid advice, but if you are willing and wanting, the info is really fantastic. She looks at skincare from all angles of the business and the practice, and demystifies the highly promoted product lines that other skincare influencers may rave over. She has also started a skincare brand by the name of Dieux, which offers reusable under eye patches for continuous and less wasteful use! I love that she is all about being sustainable with her brand! Unfortunately, Dieux is currently only available in the U.S. so I have not been able to try it for myself, but I highly recommend supporting small, female owned businesses!

Skincare by Hyram

Hiram is the guru on social media for all your skincare tip, info, and know-how! Seriously, if you care at all about the skincare game, you have already heard of him. I have been interested in skincare for a few years now, but it was actually watching Hyram’s (@skincarebyhyram) videos this summer that got me even further down the rabbit hole of wanting to know everything there is to know about ingredients, and best practices for my skincare. His reaction videos are not only informative, but also hilarious and so fun to watch! He has reviewed so many celebrity skincare routines, from Selena Gomez to A.O.C.! Hyram is also a man of the people - reviewing skincare routines of his followers on both Youtube and Tik Tok, truly wanting to help individuals learn what they are doing wrong! I will say, I have mixed opinions about some of the products that Hyram loves, such as the 10% Niacinamide solution from The Ordinary. The percentage is much to high and should really be around 4-5%. But I have also learned a lot about ingredients and what they each do for your skin! When you watch Hyram, get ready for a laugh and a light-hearted but valuable skincare education!
