I watch A LOT of content, so I was thinking… I should share some great shows to binge as many of us are still stuck at home! I figured that I should narrow down the genre so that I don’t go overboard and make an obsurdly long list. I settled on series that are easy-watching/comedic/lighthearted. Though each show on the list will not necessarily be all 3 of those, I also wanted to give you some options. I have wayyyy more series/films I would love to share with you, so perhaps I will make this a recurring thing!

Here goes:

Fleabag

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a comedic icon of wit. Fleabag centres around a woman trying to cope with her family and the dismay that is her love-life. Insanely charming, clever and epitome of what is right with British humour, Fleabag is intelligent, and season 2 is a MUST-WATCH regardless of if you have seen season 1. Though season 2 came out 3 years after season 1, it blew the show into acclaim globally! Hot Priest, kneel and a fox is all I will say. (on Prime)

lovesick

Lovesick is a very light-hearted look at Dylan, a man in his 20s who has just been diagnosed with an STI, and must now track down all of his previous sexual partners to tell them the news. Flanked with his two best friends, a sex-crazed ladies man with a charm to him, and a beautiful and intelligent young woman with an eye for Dylan. Each episode is named after a woman - the name indicating which woman Dylan is tracking down to share the news. The episodes tell the story of the sexual encounter, and how the woman takes Dylan tracking them down. (on Netflix)

wayne

In he heart of Brockton, Massachusetts, Wayne is the strong are of wrong and right. He is only 16, but he pack a punch and a hammer for assurance. When Wayne’s Dad dies of cancer, he takes off to go get the car his mother took with her when she abandoned the family in Wayne’s youth. It doesn’t take the rowdy neighbourhood misfit girl, Del, much convincing to go along for the ride. Wayne is a hilarious take on the anti-hero and an extremely nuanced and different take on teendom. (on Prime & ep. 1 free on Youtube)

please like me (TW deals with suicide)

From the creative mind of Aussie comedian Josh Thomas, Please Like Me is a nuanced, hilarious and frank look at love, friendship, family and mental illness. Somehow, some of the most dark and realistic issues we as people face, has come together in a truly refreshing and smartly comedic way. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and I would say it is a must-watch for anyone 16-forever. (on Netflix)

crashing

Another one from the brilliant mind of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Crashing follows a group of random somewhat strangers who are renting cheap rooms in an abandoned hospital - apparently that’s a thing. This show dates pre explosive fame from Phoebe, and is funny, light-watching. I just wish it had more than one season! (on Netflix)

upload

Greg Daniels, the creator of The Office U.S., has outdone himself with this one! a young hot guy who has “died” before his time, navigates his new existence in a future world where your consciousness can be uploaded into a virtual after-life. Insanely hilarious, heart-warming and clever, this show also examines classism perfectly. (on Prime)

russian doll

This show is Groundhog’s Day/Palm Springs meets a grungy psych thriller. Just when Nadia is about to be the guest of honour at a hip New York party, she gets caught in a time loop where she dies not matter what actions she takes, and wakes up back at the same party, to relive it all. But then, she finds someone caught in the same loop… (on Netflix)

I have SO MANY more to suggest, but I hope these shows are a decent start for all of you this month!
