Brought on as a Social Media Expert, I was very excited to get Refresh Evolution’s social media on the right track for growth! As a Media-Spa, Refresh Evolution wanted their content to be informative, but they also wanted to emphasize their service as an experience. Their content had been ad heavy, and was sorely lacking in brand look, feel and consistency. The first thing I did was start creating a bunch of new assets for both Instagram and Facebook (their main social channels), and I ensured that all asset designs incorporated brand colour/font as well as visual elements that would infuse fun into otherwise very informative/text heavy infographics.

We landed on a vibrant look and feel for the brand. Medi-spas will often try and highlight the medical/professional sides to their business. Refresh Evolution was more about walking in to the shop and feeling welcomed and taken care of. The Refresh Evolution experience is to be one of fun and personal fulfillment, so having a more playful grid feel, as apposed to highly curated and rigid, was a better fit for this brand.

By working on community management, asset creation, a more consistent posting regimen and honing in on the look and feel, Refresh Evolution’s social channels began to quickly grow! As a franchised company, it was important to target the consumer base for the specific regions of practice, as well as reach out to the online community. With an e-commerce shop, it was just as crucial to engage with people who may not be in the direct vicinity of the shop.

I focused on building Refresh Evolutions social channels to represent the brand “lifestyle” as offering products and services is great, but it means nothing if potential consumers to not feel a connection to the brand. Refresh Evolution is for women and men from their 20s + because the wave of media-spa is not just for the middle-aged population. These days, it is about preventative care, not just waiting until issues arise. The content I created and the community management practice I employed were geared to showing Refresh Evolution to be an inclusive and young brand.
